Female entrepreneurs may run multiple businesses and be quite persistent. But hardly will you find female entrepreneurs in the genre of Dangote, Warren Buffet, Michael Adenuga et al.
In the past week, I have had cause to speak to some business women and the answers they give to some questions are puzzling.
Questions such as
- Why don’t you have an account separate from your business account?
- Whose idea is the business?
- Why do you not take important decisions till you have discussed with your husband?
- Why is taking that multi-million dollar loan so scary?
- Why do you have more money tied down in your designer bags than in your business account?
- Why is your husband the chairman of your company? Especially if he doesn’t know much about what you do.
- Why do you not have a specific resumption time? Why do you encourage your friends to come visit and spend all productive time visiting with friends?
- Why do you not have a mentor or coach?
- Do you pay yourself a salary?
